What is ECU Performance Tuning Software? Modern vehicles of all kinds are equipped with miniature computers in some capacity or form. The memory chips of these computers can be accessed and rewritten in order to increase the hidden capabilities of a vehicle to increase performance and better its fuel economy. Access of these electronic control units is done by ECU software. It has the capability of reading the control chip and overwriting the overall response of the car mechanics in various conditions and situations. A chip can be re-written or completely removed and replaced with a new chip with writing made to fit your standards for improvement. Doing this increases the value, reliability, and power of a vehicle.

Modifications with ECU

Almost all aspects of the car can be enhanced by ECU performance software, because almost all of the vehicle parts are controlled by the written computer chip. Proper tuning can result in a faster, stronger engine, smooth controls, and increased fuel economy. Ignition timing controls when and how the internal workings of the engine react from the time you turn the key in the ignition. Fuel maps within the chip can be rewritten to allow more fuel to be accessed by the vehicle. Poorly tuned cars will actually decrease in their performance and return from tuning with increased problems that with which they began.

Benefits of ECU Software

All aspects of the computer chip have to be read and rewritten in order for there to be benefit to your vehicle tuning. One modification cannot be made without affecting the entire vehicle. All the rewritten parts must coincide with the capabilities and limitations of the vehicle for a truly successful assessment and modification process. When done properly, your engine will be stronger and much faster, because it has access to more fuel at a given time, and the flywheel, pistons, and other engine components have been adjusted to work toward this result. Transitions between gears will be more smooth and without catches. Finally, gas economy will be more efficient than before, because of the modifications made to your engine and use of fuel.

Modifications to your boat, motorcycle, or car are made after their internal computer chip is read by ECU performance software. All the manufacturer writings can be accessed, and overwritten according to the capabilities of your car and what you want the upgrades and improvements to be. Improper readings and unskilled modifications, which ignore your car and all aspects of the internal workings, will cause damage and create more need for repair and rewriting. When done well, performance software and the modifications made based upon its readings will increase the overall efficiency of your vehicle. Engines will be capable of more power and your car will have more speed output. Fuel economy will be increased, and driving your vehicle will be a pleasure from increased control. Consider having individual modifications made to your engine, ignition, and the other mechanical and electronic components with readings made from ECU software.
